Our community is filled with incredible women entrepreneurs and many businesses that I supported pre-Guelph Box were female owned without me even realizing. It has been so inspiring to get to know many of the Boss Babes of Guelph and we are so thankful for the opportunity to showcase them here!
If you have not ordered your IWD box yet, this is your sign to do it - for the ladies down below, for women supported through Women in Crisis and for championing women all around us.
Let me introduce you to our friends...
Meet Mikayla, the force behind Kenneth Ave Co. (Fun fact, we went to high school together)!
I'm Mikayla, the owner of Kenneth Ave Co, I started Kenneth Ave in 2020 after I started my own journey on herb health. After learning about the herbs and their benefits, I wanted to create a fun and bright company to show that tea can be fun and beneficial. I also learned very quickly that there aren't very many environmentally friendly tea companies; all of our packaging at Kenneth Ave can be reused or put in the compost.
Next, meet Hannah from The Saol Project.
The Saol Project is a micro flower farm and floral design studio located just outside of Guelph. "Saol" (pronounced SAIL) means 'Life' in Gaelic and that's exactly what this company represents. We believe in sharing in our wealth, which is why 30% of our farm profits go back into our community through charities and programs that we partner with. We care deeply about community and are committed to conducting our business in a way that allows for more collaboration (less competition), more sharing (less taking), more trust (less fear) and more opportunities for us all to enjoy beautiful flowers in an ethical way. We are thrilled to grow stunning, local blooms and offer design work that is natural, intentional and authentically curated for our clients. For us, flowers are not the end goal. Instead, they are the tools to bring us together, which is why we love working with Guelph Box so much!
One of our original Guelph Box vendors - Csilla & Angela from Sweet Temptations Co.
Hi! Csilla and Angela here from Sweet Temptations! We love providing Guelph and the surrounding area with delicious, high quality baked goods from cupcakes, French Macarons, custom cake and many more yummy treats. We believe in providing an inclusive and respectful workplace and love working with our team of inspirational and fun women. One of our top priorities as business owners is to give back to our community as much as possible by partnering with local charities to raise funds and awareness for their causes.
And one of our newest Guelph Box vendors - Bella from Wideman Wicks!
Best lunch in town goes to these two - Dee and Jules are the owners and operators of Pressed for time Paninis. Their little sandwich shop is located downtown Guelph and they have been serving their community since July of 2018. They have a passion for cooking and experimenting with exotic flavours from around the world. They are adaptable and aim to please, their customer service is top notch. These entrepreneurs are committed to serving delicious scratch made food fast and efficiently using lots of aromatic herbs, love and lemon zest! They are very proud to be a part of the downtown and love to work with neighbouring businesses. Collaboration over competition is key!
And last but certainly not least with a brand new retail location is Carly from The Sage Soap Company. It has been so exciting to watch this company grow over the last couple of years.
The Sage Soap Company is a maker of handmade bath and body products. All of our goods are plant-based with a focus on local ingredients. We aim to create beautiful products that make you feel good - and clean!
